New! Houston City-Wide Group - March 13, 2010

E-mail Print PDF

Hi All-

As some of you know, Houston Citywide Group has been launched as of January 9th-2009-

They have taken the format established in March of 2007 here in Austin and have created their own citywide theme and group from this base structure and idea. The Houston Citywide group is a monthly meeting which meets on the 2nd Saturday of each month at the Houston Council on Alcoholism building and grounds in downtown Houston. I have heard that it is an incredible facility.

Given the autonomy of our 4th tradition-I look forward to seeing how their group flows and functions. I am sure we can learn something from them also.

They had over 500 folks show up at there 1st meeting in January, confirming the simple idea that the AA groups coming together on a once a month basis makes sense and builds community and strength in this matter.I think they have done a great job on their flyer, and am so proud of the folks that have taken upon themselves the tremendous ongoing effort that this meeting takes to produce on a monthly basis.

I personally thank them in advance for this-

There is strong interest in San Antonio also starting a Citywide group there also. I suspect this will happen later this year, perhaps once they are finished hosting the international convention this summer.

Please spread this flyer out to anyone you may know that might be interested in attending this event in March, as well as in the future.

Sandra and I hope to see some familiar faces there in Houston as well as meet many new ones.

We are growing in strength and power-

As we listen to simple talks around kitchen tables and bask in the bliss that has been given and received by so many of us.

Perhaps, if it is Gods will, this simple idea will spread throughout the country so we may all connect on a deeper and larger capacity, as we work together and create the fellowship we all crave-

Then we might be able to attend citywide as we travel to other states, cities, countries, etc-

What a blessing to actually participate in a power greater

than oneself-the consciousness of your beliefs will surely come to you-as it has to me and many others-

Peace-

Harris
