A Legacy of Service | Since 1985, the Heart of Texas Conference has brought the joy of fellowship and the light of recovery to Waco and the surrounding area. Inspired by the Aggieland Round Up, the Heart of Texas Conference was begun as a way to provide alcoholics with an opportunity to enjoy the fruits of fellowship and recovery. HOT’s first conference was put on using the money collected out of the personal pockets of its founding members: Herb and Linda W., Ray and Adrian B., and Jim and Lorene B. Each year since then — except for the first year of the Covid-19 pandemic — the Waco recovery community has chipped in with time and funds to provide Central Texas the chance to see a Higher Power’s work on display. No, not even in Waco are we a glum lot!
